Year 8 Graduation Letter

Key Stage 3 is an important foundation for students. It provides them with the skills, attitude and knowledge to progress to Key Stage 4 and onwards. At Thorp Academy we recognise those students who work hard and achieve by holding an annual graduation ceremony for Year 8 students who are about to begin their GCSE courses. Family, friends and teachers can attend the ceremony and celebration events which reward those who are committed to achieving their potential.

To graduate we ask all Year 8 students to:
• Work hard and maintain at least E3s throughout each praising stars reports in the year.
• Collect 3 pledges to show commitment to developing skills beyond the classroom.

Following graduation we invite graduates to attend an Outward Bound Residential to develop confidence & leadership skills.
