Times tumble again for March

STRONG times and personal bests have been the order of the day for Sarah March over the Bank Holiday weekend.

STRONG times and personal bests have been the order of the day for Sarah March over the Bank Holiday weekend.

She spent Friday to Sunday in Edinburgh at the Royal Commonwealth Pool before heading back south to turn in a solid performance at the Sunderland Aquatic Centre.

Sarah competed in her three best events in Scotland and had three positive swims in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke. She particularly impressed in the 100m as she achieved another PB to finish fifth overall.

Sarah then crossed the border to swim in the Youth/Senior North East Regional Championships.

She competed in the 50m breaststroke for age 15 and over (open) and swam a great heat, finishing with a PB of 36.08 seconds. That time meant she also qualified for the final.

Sarah, enrolled on Thorp’s Elite Performer Programme, battled away and was close to her PB again. She finished in a respectable sixth in the Regional Final and that was the first time she had competed in the open age group.
