The Gateshead Schools’ Cross Country event saw Academy teams perform exceptionally well together.

There were also a number of students from Thorp’s Elite Performer Programme and they are highlighted in bold.

The Year 7 boys won their category with Joe Swanston, Joseph Lonergan, Tobi Dawson and James Dart qualifying for the District team.

The Year 7 Girls finished second with Jessica Milburn and Tilly Wallace qualifying for Gateshead.

In the Junior Boys (Year 8 & 9) there was a third place with Luke Hunter, Harry Craddock, Jay Turner and Isak Pitwood qualifying for the Gateshead District team.

And in the Inter girls (Year 10 & 11) there was the same placing with Chloe Whigham and Sarah March qualifying for the Gateshead District team.

At Inter Boys (Year 10 and 11) level they did exceptionally well and would have finished in the top three but only had five runners - one short for a full team and could therefore not be placed due to competition rules.

However, Cooper Britton and Tristan Lawrence qualified for the District.
