The Thorp Academy student, who swims for Gateshead & Whcikham, claimed a couple of podium finishes at Sheffield’s Pond’s Forge as well as recording five personal bests.

March, enrolled on the Academy’s Elite Performer Programme, was involved in eight events at Under-14s level and came first in the 50m breaststroke. She was also third in the 200m breaststroke and fourth in the 100m breaststroke.

The 14-year-old said: "I feel I am improving all the time and feel a lot stronger due to the strength and conditioning with the EPP at Thorp and also my swimming training. I think this shows in my performances at Sheffield."

Sarah will return to Sheffield this weekend and travel to Edinburgh the weekend after to continue her development in a competitive arena.
