Marching on to two medals for Sarah

SARAH MARCH was in the medals after qualifying for this month's Northumberland & Durham County Swimming Championships.

SARAH MARCH was in the medals after qualifying for this month’s Northumberland & Durham County Swimming Championships.

The Thorp Academy sport scholar qualified for a number of events in the 16 years and over category, including the 400m Individual Medley, the 50m backstroke, the 100m and 200m butterfly, and the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke. Her best swims came in the breaststroke events.

In the 200m breaststroke Sarah finished her heat with a personal best and qualified fourth fastest for the final. In the final she swam faster again, achieving another best of 2:52.71 to finish fourth.

In the 50m breaststroke she finished her heat with a personal best, qualifying fourth for the final. Again she swam faster in the final, achieving another best of 35.26 and this time she claimed third place and a bronze medal.

In the 100m breaststroke, again hoping for a good result, she finished the heat with another personal best of 1:19.29 to qualify in third. In the final Sarah finished with another third and the bronze.
