Rugby duo shining for Blaydon
A THORP Academy student has taken his try-scoring tally to a staggering 33 in just eight matches at club level.
Jamie Lane, pictured above, and Thorp school-mate Max Lodge, pictured below, have been influential members of the Blaydon RFC team that has not lost a game since May last year.
Max scored a finely taken try from his position as scrum half with a perfectly timed sniping run from the base of the ruck as part of the victory over Sunderland RFC at the weekend.
And Jamie impressed the crowds by scoring seven tries during the course of the match to keep up his prolific scoring return this season.
Speaking about his contribution to the team after the final whistle Jamie, who is Blaydon's full-back,said: "It is a brilliant feeling to score tries and it makes me feel proud of my team every time I get over the line.”
