Transition from Primary to Secondary

We work hard to ensure the transition process is as smooth and as anxiety free as possible. Primary children from our cluster schools visit Thorp Academy with their teachers on many occasions for a variety of activities and curriculum opportunities.

Towards the end of the summer term, Year 6 pupils who will be transferring to Thorp Academy in September benefit from specially organised events where they can experience life in a secondary school and get a feel for the atmosphere and ethos. During this time they will meet their tutor groups, meet their form tutors, the Key Stage Leader for their year group and take part in a wide variety of activities and lessons

Whilst the children are in Year 6 we have a team of staff who operate across our Primary Cluster Schools. These include:

Miss J Macaulay, Vice Principal

Mrs R Marklew, Assistant Principal
